Shafts, sprockets, hubs, pins and bushings in 1018, 1045 and 4140 steel; welded steel and aluminum frames, brackets and guards; large turned parts to 24 inches in diameter; and replacement components reverse-engineered from the worn original for harvesters, sorters, shakers, sweepers, conveyors and irrigation equipment. Farm equipment work, built to last

Shafts that do not fail twice

A shaft that keeps breaking is usually the wrong steel or a sharp shoulder. We pick 1045 or pre-hard 4140 over 1018 when the load calls for it and radius the step. Our 1018 vs 1045 and 4140 guides explain the difference.

Replacement parts from the worn original

Discontinued harvester and sorter parts are a fact of life. Bring the worn one; we measure it, model it in SolidWorks, correct for the wear, and machine it, usually in a better material.

Big turning, in-house

Rollers, drums and shaft ends to 24 inches in diameter and 60 inches long on the manual lathes, so large repairs do not wait on a subcontractor.

Weldments and repairs

Season deadlines

Harvest does not wait. Tell us when the machine has to run and we quote to that date, with short runs and single pieces treated as normal work.

Frequently asked questions

Can you make a part for equipment that is no longer supported?

Yes. Reverse engineering discontinued parts is routine: we measure the worn part, allow for wear, model it in SolidWorks and machine it. Where the original failed early we will recommend a stronger steel or a better heat-treat condition.

What steel should a replacement shaft be?

For light loads, cold-drawn 1018 is economical and machines well. For higher loads and wear, 1045 or pre-hardened 4140 (28 to 32 HRC) resists bending and wear far better without a separate heat-treat step. We will match the original or improve on it, and say which.

How large a part can you turn?

Up to 24 inches in diameter and 60 inches long on our manual lathes, with CNC turning for production lots of smaller parts.

Do you do welding and fabrication?

Yes. Steel and aluminum weldments with MIG, stick, flux-cored and TIG welding, from brackets and guards to frames and chutes, plus repair welding on worn or cracked assemblies.

How fast can you turn around a breakdown part?

Single parts in stock steel are often a matter of days. Tell us the machine is down when you call and we will give you a realistic date and hold to it.

Do you work with equipment dealers and manufacturers as well as growers?

Yes. We machine repeat lots for equipment builders and supply dealers with replacement parts, alongside one-off repairs for growers and custom operators in the Central Valley.
